There are Christian bands out there that don't sound preachy while spreading the positive message. This is the kind that I like. I can count a handful from the top of my head: Jars of Clay(Which I saw live when they visited Manila) ,Switchfoot, Plumb, DC Talk, MXPX and even Lifehouse.
I listen to music based on my current mood. The thing about Christian music in general is that it is a processed music. The dissonant chords or sound structures that create that disturbing vibe found in secular music is removed, and what you have is smooth flowing music-louder but you know where you stand.
I am open about any kind of music but there are times when I tired and I just want a good vibe while sipping my Earl Grey.
